A SILVER TEAPOT, maker's mark of S. Kirk & Son, 1846-1868, inverted ovoid on short stemmed raised circular base, the base chased with floral sprays, the body with similar large sprays, one side above with engraved script initials within plain shaped oval cartouche, flanked by castles, the other side also with architecture and landscape, with part foliate, grotesque bird's head scroll spout, part floral and foliate engraved scroll handle, the partly domed, florally chased, hinged cover topped by elaborate bud finial, all on finely punched ground--11¼in. (28.5cm.) high, gross weight 32.5oz.
