A PAIR OF AMERICAN SILVER JARDINNIERES, maker's mark of Tiffany & Co., circa 1882, one gilt lined, each rectangular with molded sides, the lower body concave fluted raised on four foliate scroll feet, the front applied with monogrammed shield flanked by a male and a female sphnix within flowering foliage on matted ground, with acanthus chased corners, the reverse with similar, but animal headed, figures centering fruited urn, the ends with similar urn within foliate scrolls, the shaped everted rim applied with wave pattern band--9¾in.
