Lot Essay

Valentino Besarel (1829-1902) received much attention at the Vienna Exhibition in 1873 and at the Paris Exhibition in 1878. His patrons included the Prince of Wales (later Edward VII), Grand Dukes Serge and Paul of Russia, Prince Frederick III of Germany and many other members of European Royalty.
