A SILVER TEAPOT, maker's mark of Squire & Bro., New York, 1846, also stamped W & H in oval, pear shaped on molded circular foot with die rolled rim, two sides with shaped oval cartouche within lush chased and engraved scrolls, flowers, rocaille and foliage, one engraved with script monogram TMB, the other with script inscription Awarded by the American Institute to Thos. Belle for the best Farm (e?) of 400 Acres and 11 Premium's for Farming Stock Oct. 1846/47, leaf capped scroll handle, part florally engraved spout, the molded hinged cover topped by flower finial--11in. (27.9cm.) high, gross weight 22.5oz.
