The arched crest centering a carved half-sunflower on a plinth above a pediment with central foliate-gilded reserve over an arched tufted seat flanked by carved stiles with inlaid and carved medallions above padded arms with carved and inlaid arm supports over a bowed padded seat with inlaid drop panel, on carved and inlaid trumpet feet
45½in. high, 32½in. wide, 30in. deep

A related armchair, made for the sitting room of Jedediah Wilcox of Meriden, Connecticut between 1868 and 1870, is in the collection of the Metropolitan Museum of Art. Another related armchair, attributed to John Jelliff of Newark (c. 1865) is in the collection of The Margaret Woodbury Strong Museum, Rochester, New York.
