A CHINESE EXPORT GRISAILLE PORCELAIN PART TEA AND COFFEE SERVICE
CIRCA 1750

Painted with gilt cypher mongrams within cartouches of leafy scrollwork, the rims bordered in bamboo interlaced with fruiting and flowering boughs, peach-form gilt knops, comprising:
A coffeepot and cover (knop chip, underside rim chip to cover, small chip spout, glaze crack under spout)
A teapot and cover (handle staple-repaired, long crack)
A pair of shaped oval dishes (small chips)--7½in. (19cm.) wide
A waste bowl (small chips, four rim cracks)--5 5/8in. (14.3cm.) diam.
Four tea cups (one rim crack, one small chip, one handle stapled, one in half and repaired)
One coffee cup (tiny chips)
Five saucers (all chipped, two with rim cracks, one with repaired rim break, one with long cracks)
Together with a gilt and grisaille-decorated rectangular tea caddy and cover (cover with rim touch-up) (16)
