Christie's is especially pleased to present the following photographs from the collection of the Family of Aline and Charles Liebman. The dedication that Aline Meyer Liebman, her husband, children and their extended family showed Alfred Stieglitz and his circle has certainly proven to be perhaps the most significant contribution of private support to the American avant-garde in photography of the period to come of light to date. Christie's is especially grateful to the Liebman Family for their assistance, insight and anecdotes regarding Stieglitz. Their rembrances of the photographer, his artists and galleries have added a dimension to the work offered here that is immeasurable.
