Of oval section decorated in takamaki-e in gold with red and black accents with cranes by a gnarled plum tree, with aogai highlights and the blossoms picked out in red, and by a stream rendered in togidashi, the ground roiro-nuri generously applied with hirame, the interior cases nashiji with fundame rims; fitted with a coral bead ojime and tsuishu netsuke carved with sages chipped at edges- 3 5/8 in. (9.2 cm.) high
