A SHAPED THREE CASE LACQUER INRO
EDO/MEIJI PERIOD (19TH CENTURY)
Carved in the form of a flask and decorated in iro-e takamaki-e on a kinji ground with a pheasant, craggy cliffs and a waterfall on one side and with cherry blossoms and an axe, the blade of which is of inlaid silver, the interior cases nashiji, signed indistinctly on base, fitted with a red lacquer bead ojime and lacquer netsuke in the form of a double gourd flask on which crawls a lady bug and with silver stopper and ring fitting- 3 3/4 in. (9.5 cm.) high
