Woven in muted shades of brown, blue, red and cream against a gold ground with a pair of pheasants perched on rockwork beside blossoming peony, divided by shou characters superimposed on double peaches enveloped by clouds and a foliate panel surrounded by four Buddhist emblems, all above a writhing dragon encircling jagged rocks rising from foamy waves, with lotus-scroll border--58¼ x 18½in. (147 x 47cm.)
