A CHIPPENDALE PAINTED AND DECORATED PINE BLANKET CHEST
POSSIBLY LANCASTER COUNTY, PENNSYLVANIA, 1770-1785

The rectangular hinged top with applied molded edge opening to a compartment fitted with a lidded till and secret drawers, the dovetailed case painted dark red with front panel centering the initials "H.W." on a white painted ground flanked by two green-painted reserves above a black-painted base molding, on bracket feet (six inch loss to side molding)--23 in. high, 51 in. wide, 23¾ in. deep
