A RARE AND IMPORTANT CARVED OAK HALL CHAIR

The back splat with tall stiles terminating in scrolled finials, the pierced backrest finely carved with stylized curled leaves and berries against a row of spindles, the u-shaped seat above an apron with open oval motif, the legs with curvilinear cut-out decoration joined by a gently arched stretcher, having pegged construction, carved with the artist's monogram and 1900--57in.
