A PARIS (DIHL AND GUERHARD) GILT-GROUND FOOTED BOWL
CIRCA 1814

Entirely gilt, the bowl chased with a band of berried vine above a coat-of-arms of the imperial eagle in a shield on a crowned ribbon-tied ermine mantel and a further band of stiff leaf-tips alternating with honeysuckle, on a flaring circular base chased with spearheads joined by drapery enclosing paterae (slight wear to gilding on rim)--6in. (15cm.) high, 9 5/8in. (24.5cm.) diam.
