The large, rectangular chest of reddish brown lacquer ornamented in mother-of-pearl with a wide band of lotus scroll above a narrower band of leaf-like shapes arranged in rows, the sides of the cover also decorated with stylized florets interspersed with mother-of-pearl and horn discs, the lid patterned with another large rectangular panel of lotus scroll within a border matching that on the sides of the cover, interior lined with green cloth- 26 3/8 x 14 1/8 x 12 in.
