(11 13/16 x 8 1/4 in.), brown crushed levant morocco, upper cover with Art Deco design of three cathedral steeples composed of radiating gilt fillets outlined by a scalloped blind-tooled border, the "3" and the first and last letters of "Eglises" in large gilt-outlined black morocco gothic characters onlaid over red morocco roundels set at the bottom of each steeple, the remaining letters of the title in gilt-outlined black morocco sans serif capitals, the triangular roof of the church in onlaid gray-green morocco at bottom of both covers, smooth spine with similar gilt and onlaid design, turn-ins with triple gilt fillets framing two different etchings by Jouas printed on bright yellow silk, heavily gilt silk liners woven with net-like gilt metal thread, marbled paper inner liners, top edges gilt, others uncut, original printed wrappers preserved, gilt-stamped on upper turn-in "René Kieffer, Inv. Pierre Legrain", slipcase (worn), joints and corners slightly rubbed. LIMITED EDITION, one of 10 unnumbered copies on Japanese vellum, containing an original signed pencil and pastel drawing by Jouas and the etchings in 6 states (including one hand-colored), from a total edition of 260, text framed in green-printed line block borders depicting cathedral portals.
