The boxwood netsuke carved in the figure of the fox wife Kuzunoha holding the infant Abe no Seimei, a writing brush in her mouth, the wood a rich chestnut brown, the himotoshi formed by the leg on the underside, signed on the underside of the tail- 1 3/8 in. (3.7 cm.) high
