MEIJI PERIOD (LATE 19TH CENTURY), SIGNED DAI NIHON JOZAN SEI

The spherical vase with short, cylindrical neck painted in colored enamels and gilt with large comma-shaped panels patterned with dense floral clusters, foliate scroll or diaperwork, all outlined in gilt and reserved on a cream crackle glaze ground, the collar painted with red, green and gold flower lozenges suspending a long necklace of each side- 11 1/2 in. (29.2 cm.) high, some gilding rubbed, several short hairline cracks on ring foot
