MIDDLE EDO PERIOD (18TH CENTURY), SIGNED GOTO MITSUYO


The shakudo nanako plate is applied in gold, silver and shakudo with a figure of Choryo and the dragon of the River Wei; the shakudo backing is signed on the reverse Goto Mitsuyo and kao.

Goto Joha (died 1759), also known as Kihei and Mitsuyo, was the second son of Goto Denjo and 5th master of the Kihei line.
