Several sheets of similar size and technique are in the Louvre, J. Guiffrey and P. Marcel, Inventaire Général des Dessins du Louvre, Ecole Française, Paris, 1908, I, nos. 744, 749, 754-5 and 760 . Some of the Louvre drawings are inspired by religious texts and may have been intended for book illustrations. Similar sheets can be dated from around 1735 after the artist's return from Rome
