A STAFFORDSHIRE SALTGLAZE FLARING CYLINDRICAL COFFEE-POT AND COVER

With acorn finial, dome cover, scroll handle and faceted spout terminating in a serpent head, the pot enamelled in colours with a Chinese lady in blue and green robe holding a flower and walking in a fenced garden with flowering shrubs issuing from blue rockwork, the reverse with two figures standing and seated respectively, beneath a flowering tree, the rim and cover with a turquoise diaper border broken by shaped panels enclosing single flowerheads, the spout and handle enriched with iron-red foliage, Jacobs Collection no. 527 (spiral crack around pot)--8¼in. (21.5cm.) high
