In the Russian taste; of circular form, the field finely chased with basketweave design centering a fringed damask napkin with gilt borders, on circular foot, engraved on base with inscription Clara from F.F.C. June 7th 1881, marked, No. Z312--10in. diameter
together with an English porcelain dish of similar design;

The Gorham Company records include a photograph of two virtually identical basketweave plates made in 1880, illustrated in Charles H. Carpenter, Jr., Gorham Silver, 1982, fig. 114, p. 117. This plate bears the same factory number, 312, as the two in the Gorham photograph.
