1934 NFL CHAMPIONSHIP PROGRAM AND TICKET STUB
A program and ticket stub for the famous "sneaker game" World Championship contest between the New York Giants and the Chicago Bears on December 9, 1934. The Giants trailing 13-0 at half-time changed their cleats for sneakers and outscored the Bears 27-3 in the second half. The Giants team featured Ken Strong (pictured on the cover) and Hall of Famer Mel Heim and Red Badges. The Bears team featured George Halas (coach), Bronco Nagurski, Red Grange and Beattie Feathers, the first player to gain one thousand yards in one season (1934). The Giants players received $622 each as the winner share. Also included is a ticket stub for the game at the Polo Grounds on which the scoring for the game has been written on the reverse. The program features several signatures, unrelated to the game on the cover. In very good to excellent condition with center crease. (2)
