Kirk & Son., 1880-1890, deep oval, body and cover with finely matted ground, on molded oval base with matted rocaille ground, the sides chased front with hunter and architecture, further decorated with birds, flowers, trees and foliate scrolls, centering vacant shaped oval cartouche, the back with mounted horse drinking from a trough amid conforming decoration, with two bold lion's mask drop foliate cluster ring handles, with applied rocaille rim, the highly raised cover front with stag and architecture, the back with seated maiden feeding a goat amid garden, the finial formed as a stag rampant against a tree trunk--13in. long, 15¾in. high (33cm. and 40cm. respectively), 99oz.
