A PAIR OF GEORGE III SILVER TWO HANDLED SALTS, SWEETMEAT BASKET AND INKSTAND TAPERSTICK, London, with maker's marks of, accession numbers, the navette form salts on oval pedestal base, engraved with crest, with two upswept reeded handles, gilt lined--1787, Henry Chawner, no. 70.32.2404 and 70.32.2406--length over handles 5¾in. (14.6cm.), the shaped oval basket on oval base, interior sides engraved with foliate festoons, applied reeded wavy rim, swing handle--circa 1776, marks illegible, no. 48.1.31--7in. (19cm.) long, the circular taperstick engraved with crest, fluted vase form socket, detachable nozzle, open scroll handle fitted with conical extinguisher, with foliate shell and gadrooned moldings--1810, WS, no. 70.32.2423A--2¼in.
