Lot Essay

This scarce brochure illustrated with photographs by Victor Keppler was written by Steinbeck to express his gratitude for the services the Hospital's Medical center had extended to him and his family and to praise the clinic's work. "My reason for wanting to write this little piece is very simple. In the files of the Columbia-Presbyterian Medical Center there are four cards and on them are the names of my wife, my two young sons and myself." (page [4]).
