SPANISH (BARCELONA), LATE 15TH CENTURY

The cross of pierced tracery with flame edging and urn finials flanked by scrolled leaves, the juncture of the arms hollowed as a cross for the relic, the whole raised on waisted stem foot with octagonal knop, its top cast with leaves, its sides of similar pierced tracery, the hexagonal base embossed with the Madonna and Child, Saint James the Great, and four angels each holding a tool of the Passion, cross and stand, both cross and base with town mark ----- 12 3/8in. (31.5cm.) high
