A PAIR OF SILVER COMPOTES WITH GLASS BOWLS, bearing marks apparently for William Pitts, 1813, town mark lacking, of kettle stand form, each with bowed circular collar, twice engraved with crest, motto and coronet, raised on three lion's bust headed multi scroll supports on stylized shell feet, with openwork rococo apron composed of shells and floral festoons between, the shallow circular bowls each part frosted and cut (base of bowls differing slightly), with scalloped rim--the stands 5in. (12.7cm.) high, the bowls 8½in. (21.5cm.) diam., the stands 52.5oz. (2)
