Ten time Hugo award winner Kelly Freas' achievements in the fields of Science Fiction are unsurpassed. It was the extraordinary quality of his work that propelled him to the forefront of the Science fiction/fantasy field. In July of 1958 the artist's first cover for Mad appeared on the newstands. The cover is considered a classic as bewildered Alfred is left standing at "the cake". Unlike the original cover which has a stat, applied for the logo, Mr. Freas has painted in an original logo. Acrylic on board--18½ x 13½ inches.
