Lot Essay

Although unsigned, this casket is typical of Mann's work and can be compared with an example signed 'Michael Mann', illustrated by W. Wixom, Renaissance Bronzes from Ohio Collections, 1975, cat. no. 191. At least two other signed examples of similar material and color scheme to the present example are recorded.
