The pattern for this tripod table-centrepiece has been attributed to Pierre-Philippe Thomire. Related examples are in the Badisches Landesmuseum, Karlsruhe, Schloss Haimhausen and the Residenz, Munich (see H. Ottomeyer, Vergoldete Bronzen, Munich, 1986, p. 389, nos. 5, 16, 18 and p. 312, pl. XLIV).
