CIRCA 1800, MAKER'S MARK PROBABLY THAT OF GEORGE REYMOND
Of rectangular form with canted corners, the base, sides and hinged cover with geometric panels of black and translucent blue enamel on a moire ground within white enamel and gold borders with white, pale blue and black enamel paterae at the corners, the cover applied with an octagonal cartouche bordered by chased stiff leaves enclosing an enamelled scene of two dancing nymphs holding a floral garland, one in robes and with wings, the scene flanked by architectural columns headed by terms, marked on inside of cover with indistinct maker's mark--3 1/2 in. (8.9 cm.) long
