Cf. Derek. E. Ostergard (Ed.), op. cit., pp. 132 and 133, nos. 24 and 25 for Freydanck's original painting of 1838 and a vase of 1840-43 painted with this view. The painting on the present lot has been adapted slightly to show different figures promenading. The angle does not include the statue of Scharnhorst to the left of the palace, as shown in Freydanck's painting, but does include an additional group of trees to the right
