A PAIR OF DERBY FIGURES OF A SHEPHERD AND SHEPHERDESS standing before flowering tree-stumps, he with a basket of fruit and an apple, a dog at his feet and his companion with a posy and flowers in her apron, a sheep at her feet, their clothes painted in colours and enriched in gilding, the pierced circular scroll-moulded bases enriched in turquoise and with gilding (her left arm restored at shoulder, his hat chipped, minor chips to extremities), incised marks to bases and he with No. 55 and TTL, Wm. Duesbury & Co., circa 1775, the decoration probably circa 1830
