A VINCENNES BLEU LAPIS SILVER-GILT MOUNTED BALUSTER MILK-JUG AND COVER (pot à lait ordinaire), each side painted with two birds in flight within a gilt flower, foliage and trellis cartouche, the handle flanked by gilt scrolls, the lip edged with pendant flowers, the shallow circular cover with a bird with an olive branch within a gilt flower and foliage cartouche and with gilt shell thumbpiece, gilt dentil rims (very minor gilding loss to top rim), blue interlaced L mark with a dot above, unidentified painter's mark of a cross and dot, circa 1753
