A MEISSEN SATIRICAL PEAR-SHAPED COFFEE-POT AND DOMED COVER with a leaf-moulded puce spout and branch handle with flower terminals, one side painted with a dressed monkey on a swing suspended between a reed, scroll and foliage cartouche surmounted by comedy trophies and flowers, the other side with an alchemist fox lying on his back holding a pair of bellows before an explosion within a similar cartouche surmounted by trophies of alchemy, the cover similarly decorated with a squirrel playing a drum (minute chips to finial), blue crossed swords and dot mark, Pressnummer 23, circa 1765
