The parcel-gilt finial formed as the figure of The Master, with fig-shaped bowl, the nimbus cast and chased with a dove, the reverse of the bowl pricked with the initials RMW, marked on stem and in bowl 6¾in. (17.5cm.) long

Lot Essay

An apostle spoon from the same set, the finial formed as the figure of St. James the Greater and with similarly pricked initials on the bowl, was sold in these Rooms, 16 July 1903, lot 73, (#42 to Mallet) and later as The Property of the Executors of Miss L Coats deceased, 21 July 1954, lot 121 (#140 to Biggs)
