Circular and on slightly spreading foot chased with band of flowers and acanthus foliage on matted ground, the bowl with gilt interior and chased with thistles, flowers, foliate scrolls, panels of scalework and diaperwork and four scroll cartouches, three variously engraved with an officer on horseback with Edinburgh Castle beyond, a horse race and military trophies, marked on foot rim - 11½in. (29cm.) diam.
