The rectangular top with overhanging molded cornice above a conforming case fitted with one long drawer with three sham drawer facade over two short drawers above four graduated drawers, all thumb-molded and flanked by fluted quarter-columns, on cyma bracket feet with spur returns, appears to retain original hardware (breaks and repairs to feet)--62in. high, 40½in. wide, 23½in. deep

Lot Essay

This chest is constructed with the use of wooden pins, which fasten the backboards, top and drawer bottoms. The case sides are dovetailed to the case top and bottom and the feet are secured to the underside of the case with pins and to the glueblocks and rear elements which extend thru the exterior facings.
