Note: Of the 500 cards which were distributed in error, all were pre-printed by Messrs. Booth, Dailey & Ivins for use by their business. Of the 461 recovered cards, 149 were unused (pre-printed, but not postally used) and 312 were used (many of the used cards were subsequently lost in a fire). It is considered one of the rarest of all U.S. postal cards.
