Lot Essay

Christine Podmaniczky of the N.C. Wyeth project at the Brandywine River Museum has dated this painting circa 1934. The painting was inscribed and given to Victorine and David Biddle in 1937. The Biddles were the owners of Hardcastle's, an art supply store and gallery in Wilmington, Delaware.
