(8 3/4 x 5 5/16 in.), mid-eighteenth-century English red morocco, covers gilt with roll-tooled floral border, spines gilt in seven compartments, double black morocco lettering-pieces, board edges and turn-ins gilt, Dutch-gilt floral endpapers, g.e., cloth slipcase, extremities rubbed, joints and inner hinges cracked, lacking the folding letterpress "List of Antiques" in vol. 1, light creasing to many corners, occasional very light spotting. FIRST EDITION, FIRST ISSUE, with "Post est" around the medallion on p. 108 of vol. II, entirely engraved, frontispiece, numerous vignettes, several full-page illustrations.
