FIRST EDITION of this attack on judicial astrology, dedicated to Walsingham, and probably suggested by the astrological exploits of Richard Harvey. On publication the book was regarded as heretical and treasonable and Northampton was sent to the Fleet Prison for about a year. This may explain the rarity of this edition, which was presumably suppressed. No copy has been sold at auction since 1960. STC 13858; first? issue with the quotation from Job "Quomodo .../How stedfast" on the title.
