UTAMARO: aiban tate-e (33.2 x 22.6 cm.); a parody of the night attack scene of the 11th act of Chushingura, here a courtesan and attendants at the entrance to a house at night, the lantern the maid carries inscribed Chu, from the series Ukiyo-e Chushingura, signed Utamaro hitsu and published by Tsuruya Kiemon- good impression, slightly faded, otherwise good condition
