A SMALL SILVER CIRCULAR BOX AND COVER
TANG DYNASTY

The convex cover finely engraved in the center with a duck seated atop a lotus blossom borne on a scrolling, leafy stem encircled by an outer band of lotus pod and leaf meander, the base decorated with a leonine mythical beast frolicking amidst leafy tendrils repeated as an encircling border, with narrow bands of foliate scroll on the sides, all reserved on a ring-matted ground within linear borders--1 9/16in. (4cm.) diam.
