The first of white silk, possibly intended for mourning wear, embroidered in predominantly blue satin stitch with panels of butterflies amidst rockwork and flowering branches, the pleats decorated with single flowerheads or insects, within blue floral borders and black trim--40½in. (103cm.) long; the second a cream-colored, summer-weave example, embroidered with pink and purple peony and multi-colored butterflies, the pleats with strands of flowers, all within blue floral borders and black trim--37¼in. (94.6cm.) long
