A PAIR OF POLYCHROME IVORY AND GLASS RECTANGULAR PANELS

Each depicting similar river landscapes, with figures in pagoda settings engaged in various activities along the banks of a river studded with rocks and pine trees, cleverly constructed of finely carved plaques of stained ivory composing the main scene, mounted on a glass panel reverse painted in gradated shades of blue to represent the water, all mounted in a rectangular shadow box painted with landscape backgrounds, some losses, cracks to glass--23 1/4 X 15 1/8in. (59 X 38.5cm.), framed and glazed (2)
