The globular body surmounted by a waisted neck and supported on a high, waisted, slightly spreading foot, covered allover in a brilliant red glaze streaking to lavender and pale blue, and thinning to a pale mushroom tone around the rim and the pair of fixed-ring monster-mask handles on the shoulder, the features of the masks accentuated by the pooling red glaze in the crevices, the countersunk base a pale brownish beige, the underside of the wide foot unglazed--12¾in. (32.8cm.) high
