Toby Wing was the original "Goldwyn Girl". She played both featured and leading roles in twenty-three movies for Paramount Studios, from 1928 to 1938. In 1939, she appeared on Broadway in Cole Porter's "You Never Know". She was married to the well known aviator, Dick Merrill.
