Lot Essay

The present lot depicts the junction of the Amstel and the Singelgracht, where the Binnen-Amstel ends and the Buiten-Amstel begins. Both the tolhuis, situated on the junction of the Amsteldijk and the Stadhouderskade, and the pavillion have been demolished.
