A CHINESE BRASS-MOUNTED RED LACQUER ARMOIRE, decorated overall with chinoiserie figures flying kites, fighting, courting and socialising, the doors enclosing a plain interior and decorated to the reverse with black and gilt-japanned panels of flowers, utensils and courtly figures and centred by a dog of foe, above a plain base and on block feet, the sides panelled and with further black and gilt-japanned decoration, 19th century, adapted to accommodate larger hanging-space 45¼in.
